Welcome to Badalona! The third-largest metropolitan in Catalonia located immediately northeast of Barcelona and my home for eight months. This is the city I am living and teaching in. Home of Anís del Mono liquor, an anise-flavoured liqueur, and factory. Badalona is known for its massive Pont de Petroli bridge, which begins with a statue of an ape with Charles Darwin’s face holding the Anís del Mono liqueur. Badalona also hosted the 1992 Olympic basketball competition at the Palau Municipal d’Esports de Badalona. Badalona is a truly marvellous city with beautiful beaches and plenty of culture.
